Supporting parents, supporting babies

Becoming a parent is a big life change. It can bring joy, but also moments of stress, tiredness, or low mood. This is completely normal. The Parent & Infant Wellbeing Group is here to support you and your baby through those early months.


What is it?

A free 6-week programme designed to:

  • Support parent–infant bonding

  • Promote emotional wellbeing

  • Build social connections with other parents

The group has been developed by psychologists and is delivered by Early Years Professionals from your local community.


Who is it for?

  • Parents and caregivers with babies who are not yet crawling

  • Mums and dads are welcome — you can attend together or separately


What will I learn?

Weeks 1–3

  • Explore the emotional ups and downs of early parenthood

  • Build confidence and self-compassion

  • Learn calming techniques (breathing, movement, sensory grounding)

  • Discover how your emotions and your baby’s are connected

Weeks 4–6

  • Practice gentle mental and emotional tools (mindful thinking, self-compassion)

  • Learn how to help your baby feel safe and calm through bonding and co-regulation

  • Reflect on your parenting journey and celebrate progress

  • Explore ways to maintain wellbeing and connect with supportive communities

Groups will run in Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot.
