Sketty & Killay Medical Centres
Covid Vaccine Programme
We understand there is great excitement about the start of the COVID vaccination programme.
We are urging the public NOT to phone us or other NHS services to ask when they can have the vaccine as we are currently being swamped with calls.
We are in the process of contacting all our patients over the age of 80 and booking them into either the Killay Surgery on a Saturday or into the Sketty Parish Hall ( St Paul's Church ) during the week. Please be patient, you will receive a call within the next 3 weeks.
Patients between the ages of 70 and 79 will be contacted by the Health Authority and booked into the Bay Field Hospital to receive their vaccination.
Those in line to get it MUST wait to be invited. Please be patient.
Our doctors and nurses do not decide who gets the vaccine first. Decisions over priority are taken by the UK and Welsh Governments based on the recommendations of the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
As more vaccine becomes available, we'll be offering it to successive age bands of adults. It may take a while to get to everybody. To help the NHS, please wait to be invited.
