BAY CLUSTER COUNSELLING AND WELLBEING SERVICE
The Jac Lewis Foundation is working alongside the Bay Cluster GP practices to provide an easily accessible counselling service for children.
GPs will refer individuals to the project.
What the service can provide
- Counselling or therapy sessions
- Face-to-face, online or telephone counselling, depending on individual preference
- Wellbeing workshops
Counselling and therapy sessions
The project can offer different types of counselling and therapy, including:
- person-centred counselling
- integrative counselling
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, also known as CBT
- systemic therapy
- EMDR trauma therapy
- art psychotherapy
- music therapy
Face-to-face counselling sessions will take place at 148 St Helens Road, Swansea, SA1 4DF.
Wellbeing workshops
Workshops can be delivered online or face to face.
- Mindfulness
- Pain management
- Anxiety
- CBT coping skills
- Stress management

What happens after a GP referral?
- The individual or parent will be contacted by a counsellor.
- A suitable appointment will be arranged to start counselling or therapy sessions.
- The counsellor will provide 6 counselling or therapy sessions.
What the project cannot provide
- Mental health diagnosis
- Long-term mental health support, which remains the responsibility of the individual GP practitioner
